We have started asking our recently hired team members if they wanted to contribute a post to the Culture Blog sharing their experience or thoughts after they have been with the company for about 30 days or so. Here is one from Joshua R who joined the Sales team as a Support Services Rockstar.
Culture shock. This is how I felt for the first week or so as I embarked on this crazy awesome Daxko journey. I came from a large bank where the culture was “suit and tie” at all times. When I figured out I could wear my Chuck Taylors to work… I just didn’t know how to act! It’s really deeper than the clothes though… I don’t mean to sound like I was negatively impacted by the culture shock, rather quite the opposite. I have never been in an environment that is so focused on the things that do matter that the things that don’t matter, like the kind of shoes you wear, actually…. don’t matter! Becoming a team member, nay – a family member, at Daxko has been one of the most challenging things I have done so far in my life. I don’t mean it is “just a lot to learn” or the job is hard. I mean I have been challenged to be a better person both professionally and personally. Mediocrity is not something celebrated in this family, excellence is the standard. That being said, it also makes this one of the most rewarding things I have ever gotten to do.
I have the pleasure of being a part of the support team whose primary focus is to not only help our customers with questions when they have them but to provide solutions that echo, meaning we just don’t answer the question at hand we attempt to provide an answer that will sustain the concept/goal they are facing. I can get down with a team that does this. I can put all my efforts behind something like this.
I am no journalist (as I am sure you can tell) but I truly hope you can see how much I have seen the value of this company. I really consider myself blessed to have been given an opportunity to contribute to the waterfall of amazing that flows from these multi colored pods. I look forward to a long and fruitful career as a Daxko team member.
PS. The coffee is better here too
