I have not been at Daxko very long, but I remember the first time I walked in the doors for my interview, I was blown away at how simply “cool” everything looked! Everything from the clean lines to the monochromatic color scheme with pops of color to the name of the room in which I was interviewed. I remember even snapchatting to all of my friends a picture of the office space becuase I thought it was so cool. (Snapchat for anyone curious is a messaging application for smartphones that allows users to send pictures or videos to contacts for 10 seconds or less and after the message expires, the picture is gone forever)
So, while it is no secret that we have the coolest looking office space around, it may be a secret that working in an environment that is decorated how you enjoy can boost productivity. “Studies show that comfortable, well-ventilated, well-lit, safe workplaces increase productivity as much as 16 percent and job satisfaction as much as 24 percent, while reducing absenteeism,” according to Desktime.com. Daxko has certainly gone above and beyond to give employees a pleasing work environment, but what if we went a step further?
Going around to different departments, I found that a few people had taken that next step and decorated their office spaces. I think that a few personalized touches in an individuals office space can really enhance the work environment. You can’t help but smile when you look up from an email or a spreadsheet and see a picture of your dog, significant other, or children.
What are some of your favorite ways to feel at home at work? Do you like a relaxing atmosphere with a lamp? Like to spice up your day with bold colors to keep you energized? Are you someone who just needs some organized chaos to keep the wheels turning? Or perhaps there is something totally different from office decor that keeps you productive at work.
