Introducing Joel B

We have started asking our recently hired team members if they wanted to contribute a post to the Culture Blog sharing their experience or thoughts after they have been with the company for about 30 days or so.  Here is one from Joel B who joined the Engineering Services team as a Production Support Engineer.

Within my first 30 days working in Daxko’s Production Support Team, I could really tell a difference between Daxko and other companies.  Firstly is just the general attitude of everyone here. Everyone is proud to be a part of Daxko’s team. They take pride in the projects they are given and aim to do their best simply because they can.

Another aspect I noticed is the sense of teamwork amongst all the teams here. Whether it is in my team resolving issues in our live site or overhearing other teams working together to bring their project to life, there is no hiding the fact that everyone here is team oriented.  That makes things much easier to push through challenges or tasks we face. It’s not just my challenge or project; it’s our challenge, our project.

Daxko’s dedication to its employees to build better careers is very strong.  TMD’s and groups like the Software Developers Guild really show the active participation of the people who work here and care about what they do.  These along with Daxko’s Professional Development budget are just a few of the ways that Daxko goes out of its way to ensure that its employees have a place to grow and develop and become stronger in the technologies they love.

Daxko’s processes also maintain a steady work environment.  Expectations and goals are easily visible and well distributed.  When an issue or adjustment needs made and crosses teams, it is always well communicated, handled and addressed. Many of the processes have expected turn around times that makes it very organized to keep track of issues and the time needed to resolve them.  These benchmarks help you prioritize tasks that need accomplished and better provide service to other teams within Daxko or to directly benefit our customers.

All in all, Daxko is like no other place I’ve ever worked. The innovational environment, team-centric mindset, effective processes and professional development opportunities really make it shine out over other companies and opportunities.
