Shout-out to Our Mobile App Moguls
With something like 100,000+ apps (and counting) in iTune’s App Store and 10,000+ apps (and counting) in Android Market, there is literally an app for everything. I’m sure you’ve got your faves – hopefully, you’ve found a few of the more obscure and unique ones. After just a week as an iPhone owner, I’m completely hooked on searching amazed at what’s out there. And I was really excited to see that a few of my DAXKO peeps have apps available.
Here’s my shout-out! You should totally check out…
Search It All – Free
It’s developed by DAXKO engineer James Graham and allows you to search a term using a selected search engine. The app makes it quick and easy to switch search engines from a list of the most popular (Google, Google – News, Google – Images, Bing, and Yahoo to name a few). It’s available for free and uses AdMob advertising.

Get Here
Created by DAXKO engineer Trent Kocurek, Get Here is an app you can use to get people to where you are. It takes your current location, allows you to add a personalized message, then allows you to send that message with a link to your current location to anyone by Email, Facebook or Twitter.

Coming soon to Android Market:
TimeNPlace
Using Google’s Android platform, DAXKO engineer Clarence Williams has developed an app that uses Google Maps and the built-in GPS device to continuously poll the device for coordinates (longitude/latitude). You can then set up alarms, notes, sound profiles, and send text messages based on your location. So, if you leave the area and later return, the device will recognized the location and execute your desired action. It also continuously tracks your wireless and 3G signal strength, uses that information to build a Google Map, and tells you what the “actual” wireless reception is in your area. Forget the coverage maps you see on commercials!
All pretty cool apps, huh? Feel free to share your faves in the comments below. I still have screen space available…
