The Daxko Reach Conference is Headed back to Nashville

Since last year’s Reach conference in Nashville was such a record-breaking hit, we decided to take this year’s conference back to the Music City for an encore! Dust off your cowboy boots and plan to join us for Reach 2015, our 12th annual customer conference, happening August 31 – September 2 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

We selected the Gaylord Opryland because we want our attendees to enjoy top-of-the-line amenities, luxurious guest rooms, exceptional service, and have access to several onsite restaurants and a highly rated spa. Located just steps away from the Grand Ole Opry, the Gaylord Opryland is a convenient location for enjoying Nashville history and culture while you’re in town.

We’ve also refreshed our Reach Website to make finding information and registering for the conference easier than ever. Be sure to check it out often – we’ll be adding more information about sessions, keynote speakers, and night events soon!

This year we’re expecting 300 to 400 YMCA, JCC, and community center professionals from all over North America, so it’s important to secure your registration and book your hotel room early. Early Bird pricing is available now through April 30, so don’t miss out.

We look forward to seeing you in the Music City for Reach 2015!

Kicking Off 2015

Kickoff Top Chef CompetitionDaxko held our 11th annual Kickoff last Thursday night and all day Friday. As is appropriate for us, the theme was all about food, including a knock-off of Top Chef complete with legit celebrity judges and a highly competitive “fight to the death” rendition of The Hunger Games.

We use this “cultural event” each year to highlight what we accomplished in the previous year and to celebrate our wins and learn from our shortcomings. Although, we had a lot to cheer from 2014, which by some measures was our biggest year yet, we certainly recognize we’re far from perfect and have a ton of work ahead of us if we’re going to reach our full potential.

Kickoff is a unique opportunity to get the entire team together to communicate where we’re headed and connect the dots between our 3-year strategy and annual goals & objectives all the way down to our various teams and individual team members.

All of this is meant to start the new year running with a clear view of where we’re going, and I feel like we accomplished that.

Daxko TeamBut it also acted as a crystal clear reminder to me of the phenomenal team we’ve been blessed to assemble, why I’m eager to get to the office every morning, and the potential that lies ahead for Daxko, our team and our customers.

YMCAs in the News: Missoula Family YMCA Reaches Out to Sierra Leone

When confronted with a problem as widespread and scary as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa many are quickly daunted by the enormity of the outbreak and don’t understand how they can help from so far away. Not so for our friends at the Missoula Family YMCA. Board member Chris Siegler has a long bond with the people of Sierra Leone that began as a peace corps volunteer in the 1960s. As board member for the YMCA in Missoula, Montana, Siegler formed a partnership with the YMCA in the Sierra Leone capital of Freetown. Now, the Missoula Family YMCA is reaching out in any way it can to help the people of this country wracked by the recent Ebola outbreak. Their campaign recently made national headlines on National Public Radio and is an example of a community reaching out in a more personal way to impact victims so far away.
